Carina's Song

I never set out to paint a specific place in the cosmos—these pieces just come to me. Layers of color and movement build until the painting tells me it’s complete. Only then do I go searching, looking through images from the James Webb and Hubble telescopes to see if something out there echoes what I’ve put on canvas. More often than not, I find a match.

 

"Carina’s Song" carries the energy and mystery of deep space—the feeling of staring up into the night, wondering what’s beyond and sensing that we’re part of something vast and unknowable. It’s not about trying to understand it all. It’s about feeling it.
