I've always had a warm place in my heart for St. Francis of Assisi. This is my third painting of him, a transcendental version.  I didn’t set out to paint a celestial version, it just came into being when I let the spirit work through my brush.  I believe this painting takes St. Francis into the celestial presence, a being among the stars.
